The New ‘Ironheart’ Trailer Rockets Riri to Her Heroic Destiny

As Ironheart‘s June 24 premiere closes in, here’s another glimpse at the action in store for Marvel fans. The anticipated series has until now had subdued marketing from Disney, but better late than never.

The series picks up on young tech genius Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) following the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A whole new era of heroism is unfolding that we can’t wait for Williams to step into. Watch the trailer below for a glimpse of the magic power Williams harnesses with her Ironheart Armor—and the evil that rises to meet it.

Thankfully our girl is ready for the challenge with the help of her friends real and supernaturally digital. Thorne said of the show in a release from Marvel, “What was interesting for me was how different Riri’s story and entrance into the MCU was in comparison to other characters. After bringing Riri to life in the world of Wakanda, we had an amazing opportunity to follow that up with a deep dive into the character that allows for the exploration of her origin story.”

“We’re not necessarily going back in time; it’s more of catching up and seeing the effects of how those first pivotal moments of her life have shaped her, and seeing the person that she’s trying to become.”

Also featured in the trailer is Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Age of Extinction) as a mysterious figure in Williams’ life who gets a taste of that mystic Marvel power and well… goes real dark with the influence under his grungy red hood. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out with Riri’s armor becoming this mecha magic weapon for humankind.

Joining Thorne and Ramos are Alden Ehrenreich, Lyric Ross, Anji White, and Manny Montana. We’re excited to see Thorne return as Marvel’s next chapter is shaping up, and to see her role within it get the limelight it has long deserved.

Ironheart premieres its first three episodes June 24 on Disney+.
