When a very large and angry new Titan rises up from the rift—who you gonna call? The characters in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters have Godzilla and King Kong on speed dial, but it’s not clear if either will play nice enough to get the job done… or if it’s even possible for the VIPs of the Monsterverse to bring down this godlike creature from the sea.
A new trailer for season two of Monarch teases the regret felt after opening the door for this new fella, as well as all the thrilling action that awaits. Check it out!
An Apple TV press release reads, “Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch—and the world—hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend, and foe—all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.”
“As previously announced, season two will feature Kong, Godzilla and introduce a new Titan: the enigmatic Titan X that is now officially on the loose. Titan X isn’t just another monster; it’s a living cataclysm. When its massive bioluminescent form breaks the surface of the ocean, the world seems to hold its breath. In Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season two, Titan X stands at the center of the mystery—an ancient force emerging from the deep, its purpose uncertain, its power unmatched, its awe and terror in equal measure.”
A living cataclysm, you say? An ancient force emerging from the deep? Fortunately Monarch has two generations of Russells, Wyatt and Kurt, playing the same character at different periods of time to help humanity fight back.
Joining Colonel Lee Shaw across the years are returning characters played by Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm; guest stars in season two include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper, and Camilo Jiménez Varón.
Dive back into Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Friday, February 27, on Apple TV; it’ll have a weekly drop on Fridays through May 1.
