Leaker Who Apple Is Suing Leaks iPhone 18 Pro Early

After sharing 3D renders for the expected foldable iPhone’s design, Jon Prosser, aka the YouTuber and leaker who Apple is suing for spilling the beans on iOS 26 and Liquid Glass, is back at it again with another detailed unveil. This time, for the iPhone 18 Pro. But there’s one new change that may be completely wrong.

Prosser corroborates previous reports that Apple will announce the iPhone 18 Pro (and 18 Pro Max) alongside the foldable iPhone. There will reportedly be no regular iPhone 18 since that’s supposedly getting pushed to a spring 2027 launch, and there may not be an iPhone Air 2 until 2027 as well due to poor sales for the first-gen skinny phone.

As for what to expect from the iPhone 18 Pros: Prosser says they’ll look like the iPhone 17 Pros but come in new colors (he says Apple is testing burgundy, brown, and purple), include a faster A20 Pro chip, and the main camera will sport a “variable aperture,” which is a way for the lens to open and close to control how much light reaches the image sensor and, as a result, how shallow the depth of field (background blur or “bokeh” in photography terminology) is. A variable aperture is easily a “pro” camera feature instead of the current point-and-shoot functionality. Prosser does caution that the variable aperture feature may be exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max model or not ship at all on any models.

Samsung introduced a variable aperture in the Galaxy S9 series and kept it for the Galaxy S10 series before removing it from the S20 phones. Needless to say, the feature didn’t gain any traction.

Prosser also says that the iPhone 18 Pros will come with a simplified Camera Control button. Instead of having both capacitive touch and pressure-sensitive capabilities, the new Camera Control will reportedly only have the latter, which could mean losing some swipe-based features that the button has on the iPhone 16, iPhone 17, and iPhone Air series.

Furthermore, Prosser says the iPhone 18 Pros will have a C2 modem (no more Qualcomm ones) and a 5G via Satellite feature, which would mirror a similar feature in the latest Apple Watches like the Ultra 3.

However, the biggest change might be to the front of the iPhone—specifically, the top of the display where the Dynamic Island is located. Prosser says the selfie camera will move from the top center to the top left corner, which would be very un-Apple-like. In fact, as many have noted, it’d look like an Android phone, like the Google Pixel 5. Why would Apple copy the look of five-year-old Android phones?

There may have been some information that was lost in translation. While Apple is expected to move the iPhone’s flood illuminator to underneath the screen (this is the component that will likely be moved to the top left corner), the selfie camera, dot projector, and infrared camera would remain centered in a smaller pill-shaped cutout.

All of this is to say that no leaks—not even from Prosser—should be taken as fact. Remember when Prosser was wrong about the Apple Watch Series 7 getting a flat-sided redesign? As always, nothing is official until it comes directly from Apple. Still, expect the leaks and rumors on the iPhone 18 Pros to pick up from now until September, which is *checks calendar* not for another eight months. This is just how the leak cycle works.
