While the World Waits for ‘Doctor Who’ to Return, the BBC Is Selling Off Some Major Props

Doctor Who and Disney ended their partnership in 2025, and the show’s new era will begin with a Christmas special to close out 2026. Right now, though, fans are in a weird place. Ncuti Gatwa’s tenure as the Fifteenth Doctor had some fun highs but also some dreadful lows—and it ended with the weirdest regeneration scene in Doctor Who‘s long history.

While the Doctor Who faithful wait to see what’s next—and stateside viewers wonder if or when Disney+ will release its final Doctor Who project, the tepid spinoff The War Between the Land and the Sea—the BBC has announced an auction that might feel like a Disney-era fire sale, were there not some lots included from before the Mouse House era. Still, you can’t help but wonder if Doctor Who‘s longtime home is eager to do some clearing out after the roller coaster experience of the last few years.

It’s not framed that way, of course. Propstore’s press release trumpets “an online auction of over 300 lots, showcasing costumes and props from across Doctor Who history … from David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor through to Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor, alongside memorable companion costumes, creatures, and production pieces. With all lots starting at just £100, the auction offers an accessible entry point for fans and seasoned collectors alike. In addition, 20% of the hammer proceeds will be donated in support of BBC Children in Need.”

The auction house’s list of the most covetable lots includes a screen-matched TARDIS seen in “Eve of the Daleks” (pictured at the top of this post), a 2022 special episode from Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor run. There are also two more Doctor Who icons in the form of a light-up, exhibition Cyberman and a Bronze Asylum Dalek.

You can also bid on several memorable costumes, including River Song’s “Rain Gods” outfit, Amy Pond’s “Amy’s Choice” ensemble, the Fifteenth Doctor’s “Reality War” outfit, and the band jacket worn by Jinkx Monsoon’s memorable villain, Maestro.

Also, some notable props are part of the sale. They include Clara Oswald’s Anti-Cyber Gun, the Fourteenth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver (the rehearsal version), and the Sonic Screwdriver used by the Fifteenth Doctor in “Joy to the World.”

And just for fun: screen-matched Eleventh Doctor bow ties from the 50th anniversary special.
