Track smart with Samsung SmartTag 2

While the Apple AirTags might be more popular on the interwebs, Samsung users can’t exactly make do with those Bluetooth trackers. Enter the Samsung SmartTags. The second generation is still going strong in Australia, and they’re actually cheaper to buy than AirTags.

For Big Smile Sale, a pack of 4 Samsung SmartTag 2 Bluetooth trackers are available for AU$99 – that’s a massive 41% discount on the list price, and brings the price of each individual ones down to just AU$24.75. In contrast, a 4-pack of Apple AirTags typically will set you back about AU$128 at best – although currently down to AU$135 on Amazon – so each tracker will be around AU$32.

So if you want decent Bluetooth trackers to keep tabs on your belongings (or pets) that are economical and can be used via the SmartThings app, grab this 4-pack.

Fire TV Stick 4K deal

When it comes to streaming devices, none are as good value as Amazon’s Fire TV Sticks. You can get some really affordable options, but I think the Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) is arguably the best option of them all – not too expensive but full-featured.

While any streaming device will give you access to practically all platforms, plus some other apps too, the Fire TV Stick 4K stands out by offering a speedy navigation system, great performance, support for 4K resolution and Dolby Vision. It’s also controllable via the Alexa voice assistant.

It’s also Wi-Fi 6 enabled, plus you’ll get access to Xbox Game Pass via the device to play your favourite games. That’s a lot of features for not a lot of money. Amazon has slashed the price of the Fire TV Stick 4K by 30%, so you can pick it up for just AU$69. And sure, we have seen it at 50% in the past, but this is still a solid deal.

Focus on this: 23% off the Canon EOS R6 Mark II

I’m a photographer and had been a Canon girl for over a decade. Then the Nikon Z8 happened and I switched allegiances, but Canon still gives me major FOMO, especially when I think about the EOS R5 Mark II. It’s such a fantastic camera that I do regret splurging on the Nikon. The R5 II is, however, rather expensive.

If that’s the kind of performance you’re after, but at a more achievable price, consider the Canon EOS R6 Mark II instead. Sure, it’s not a high-resolution sensor, but its speed and precision belies its price tag. For your money, you get a 24.2MP full-frame sensor that’s capable of excellent images even when rattling away at 40fps continuous shooting. There are very good tracking modes, so you can use it for sports or wildlife photography, and videos are oversampled 6K clips.

And having followed the price history of this camera since its launch in November 2022, this is one of the best prices yet!

Dyson price-drop alert!

Given I’ve been following Amazon sales for a long time now, and I think it’s fair to say I can spot discount trends as they happen. And I’m always on the lookout for great deals on Dyson vacuums.

The Gen5detect Absolute is currently discounted to AU$977 on Dyson’s own online storefront, you can get it from Amazon for for just AU$899, which is only AU$30 higher than the lowest we have ever seen on Amazon.

While not the very cheapest we have seen, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is AU$1,049 (save AU$500), and topped our best vacuum cleaner and best cordless vacuum lists after its release.

Or grab the Dyson WashG1, as it’s is AU$0.99 cheaper than the previous best price we saw during Click Frenzy earlier in the month.

A Bose bargain!

If you aren’t too fussed about missing out on Bose’s fancy Immersive Audio, but still want a fantastic set of headphones for not a huge amount of money, the Bose QuietComfort SC is a great buy. Even better, it’s AU$50 cheaper than we saw during the Black Friday sales last year.

Other than that, the main difference between the SC and the Ultra is the quality of materials used – for example, the Ultra has a little more cushioning for the earcups, but the SC are still very comfy. It’s also a folding design, which you won’t get with the Ultra, and it comes in a soft case as compared to the Ultra’s hard one (the SC in the name denotes the ‘soft case’).

Both have lovely sound, although the Ultras will be a touch better as they process sound differently to the SC, while battery life and ANC performance is quite similar on both. So if you want to save some cash but not skimp on sound, you can grab the SC for under AU$250

Hello, Australia! And welcome to TechRadar’s live coverage of Amazon’s first big sale of the year – called the Amazon Big Smile Sale 2025.

We’ve had a few Big Smile Sales in Australia, so we know a thing or two about it. It’s typically held in March and it’s right on time as last year it kicked off March 18, 2024. It’s always been a week-long sale, so nothing new in the fact that you have until Sunday, March 23 to shop till you drop (figuratively speaking, we hope), and like most Amazon sales, it starts at midnight.

Don’t expect record-low prices on Amazon this time round, though – that’s typically reserved for the Amazon Prime Day sale and the Amazon Black Friday sale – but you’ll typically see about 20% to 30% off a range of items. There will be deeper discounts on select items, but it will be the rare offer that comes in at an all-time low. If there are any, be assured that my team and I will be right on it, bringing you the best and latest discount on tech as soon as we spot them.

I’ve covered every single Amazon sale since the retailers launched its Australian site in December 2017, so I know how spot a good Amazon deal. Moreover, my team has expertise in different categories of tech, so anything we list on this page will be worth your attention. So stick with us as we bring you a plethora of discounted hot tech.
