Mike Colter Says Luke Cage Might Be Preparing for a MCU Return

A new report teases the comic book inspiration for Man of Tomorrow. Kenan and Kel are returning for a goofy new horror movie. Plus, The Brave and the Bold may have found itself an intriguing writer. Spoilers get!

Supergirl

Deadline reports Diarmaid Murtagh plays Drom Baxton in Supergirl, “the second in command to Krem of The Yellow Hills,” the film’s main villain played by Matthias Schoenaerts.

Man of Tomorrow

Relatedly, a new rumor from Nexus Point News suggests Maxima will make her DCU debut in Man of Tomorrow, claiming that the story is a loose adaptation of 1992’s Panic in the Sky crossover.

The Brave and the Bold

In yet further DCU updates, The InSneider Report alleges that Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson is penning the script for Andy Muschietti’s Batman and Robin movie.

Kenan and Kel Meet Frankenstein

Deadline reports Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will reunite on Kenan and Kel Meet Frankenstein, a horror comedy from Thompson’s Artists for Artists and Range Media Partners. Said to be “inspired by the classic Abbott and Costello monster films,” the story follows “two delivery drivers whose routine drop-off takes a terrifying turn when they arrive at a creepy, out-of-place castle and accidentally awaken Frankenstein’s monster—turning an ordinary night into a fight for survival.” Jonah Feingold is attached to write the script.

Saccharine

Variety also reports IFC and Shudder have acquired Saccharine, the “supernatural body horror” film from director Natalie Erika James starring Midori Francis, Danielle Macdonald, and Madeleine Madden. The story concerns a “lovelorn medical student” who “becomes terrorized by a sinister force after taking part in an obscure weight loss craze: eating human ashes.”

Forbidden Fruits

Cinemark has character posters of the four witches of Forbidden Fruits.

Noseeums

Much like the house flies of The Amityville Horror, the titular midge flies of the Noseeums trailer portend a different kind of haunting at a lake house in backwoods Florida.

Luke Cage

During his recent appearance on Shawn Stockman’s On That Note (via Screen Rant), Mike Colter confirmed he’s “had conversations” about Luke Cage’s return to the MCU and admits the character may “have some unfinished business there.”

Listen, I will say this: I’ve had conversations. I would tell people no, because I actually was like, when it wrapped, ‘I love playing Luke Cage, but I also just […] love acting. I love doing different things.

[I may] have some unfinished business there.

You know, Daredevil’s back. So I’m like ‘bring the defenders back. Bring Jessica back.’
