Funko’s Latest Ultra-Niche Pop Is the Horrifying Pickle Dad From ‘It: Welcome to Derry’

As soon as It: Welcome to Derry viewers heard little Lilly Bainbridge’s sad tale about her father’s death in a pickle factory accident, they knew that Pennywise was going to tap into that trauma and make it a thousand times worse. And indeed, the sewer-lurking clown delivered, first appearing to Lilly in a supermarket scene that saw an oozing, tentacled likeness of her dad breaking out of a pickle jar and slithering toward his daughter, demanding a kiss for Daddy. It’s so, so disturbing. Naturally, Funko was like, “Let’s make a collectible out of it!”

Step aside, Rick and Morty‘s Pickle Rick. Pickle Dad is the new salty icon.

Here’s how poor old Morris Bainbridge looked in the show’s supermarket scene, if you needed a jump scare right this moment:

At any rate, the fact that such a niche appreciation of It: Welcome to Derry is hitting the collectibles market is a good sign for fan interest, especially since HBO has yet to announce a second season for the show. You can preorder Pickle Dad now for $15; he’s expected to ship January 17.

Funko also revealed several other new Welcome to Derry Pops inspired by Pennywise, including his human form, Bob Gray. You can also bring home Periwinkle, the clown persona adopted by Bob Gray’s daughter, the very mixed-up Ingrid Kersh, for her own sinister use. These are all $15 as well and ship January 17; learn more at the Funko site.

Completists can add to their Welcome to Derry stash with Funko’s previously released Pops from the show, which include Bob Gray (out of clown drag); Skeleton Man (somebody send one to General Shaw); Pennywise with his circus wagon; and Pennywise lapping up brains from a human skull.
